PASSING OF REGINA BUCHER, Chapter XIII

Members,

It is with a great sadness and a heavy heart that I am informing you of the passing of one of our own. As most of you know Regina Bucher was diagnosed with colon cancer several months ago. In the recent past she had taken a turn for the worse and passed away at her home in Richmond on June 19, 2010.

Regina was a great friend and in all honesty will be remembered as being more than a friend but rather a mom. I am not sure that anyone has given more as a civilian employee with the Oakland Police Department than Regina.

Regina had taken great pride in the Police Unity Tour and would do anything for the "Tour" and anyone associated with it. I can say in all certainty that I have never seen anyone so passionate about our cause.

Her passing will not only leave a void within the Oakland Police Department but will be shared by the number of people she has touched throughout the country with the Police Unity Tour.

There will be a reception immediately following at the church.

A fund has been set up to assist with the cost of the services.
